Pixie - female Terrier (Yorkshire) Cross

Adoption fee: Please check with the rescue

  • Centre:Dogs Trust
  • Location:Liverpool
  • Sex:Female
  • Breed:Yorkshire Terrier
Pixie is finding the busy centre environment a little difficult to cope with and struggles to settle through the day. She loves going out for her walks where it's quieter and she can relax and explore. She loves to take her time sniffing to catch up with what's going on and who's been where! Pixie enjoys gentle fuss and will need regular coat care, so her adopters will need to gently brush her daily. She's not the biggest fan, but she tolerates it. A few titbits as a reward make it easier on her. Pixie is great with new people, very confident and makes friends easily, but she should be allowed to approach them, as she worries if people suddenly reach down to her. In her previous home, Pixie was very reactive to other dogs, but she doesn't seem quite so bad at the centre. we're able to distract her and she isn't too bothered about dogs in the distance, but if she catches one staring at her, she'll make her feelings clear! Ideally she would have quiet walking areas with minimal dogs, and also none wither side of her home that would result in her barking constantly at them. She isn't a fan of wildlife either, and did cause a rat to meet a sticky end.

Pixie needs a home as the only dog, and where any children are of high school age. Ideally, there would be no neighbouring dogs. She is house trained but likes to have company. Pixie has a grade 2 heart murmur which doesn't bother her and doesn't require medication.
