  • Centre:Dogs Trust
  • Location:Canterbury
  • Sex:Female
  • Breed:Saluki
Sookie is an adorable and affectionate 2 year old Saluki Cocker Spaniel Cross with brains as well as beauty! She has lots of training under her belt with so much potential to learn more! She’s an irresistible pup who loves nothing more than attention and cuddles. With her charming face and gentle disposition, it's hard not to fall in love with her. She enjoys spending time with her humans and will show her affection through playful wiggles, tail wags, and pouncing around. When exploring, Sookie is quite adventurous and independent, often stopping to sniff around and take in her surroundings on her walkies. She gets excited at the sound of a squeaky toy and loves playing with a teddy. Sookie is a delightful, loving, and playful girl who would make a wonderful addition to a lucky family.

Sookie is looking for a loving home with adopters who have the time and patience to take on a young and energetic dog. She requires patient and responsible adopters who can continue her training. As she sometimes jumps up and mouths during playtime, she is best suited for sensible and confident children aged 12 and over as she can jump up and bounce aaround when she is excited. She is a bit worried by close and formal handling, so adopters will need to advocate for her and be willing to give her space so she is comfortable. Sookie is friendly and loves to play with other dogs so any dogs in her home will need to tolerate her clumsy, playful ways and they will also need to be of a similar or larger size than her. She is not able to live with cats or small animals. If she is the only dog at home, it would be beneficial for her to have walking and play buddies when out and about. Sookie will need lots of company and attention when first adopted, and time left alone should be gradually introduced once she has settled in. She has been housetrained before and would benefit from a private garden for toilet breaks and playtime. Her garden will need to have solid fencing or at least 6 foot as she is a very agile girl! Sookie will need to meet her adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. If you rent your property, please have written permission from your landlord ready once you have submitted your application to avoid delays, as it will be required early on in the rehoming process if you are shortlisted. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes between 7 - 10 days.
