Reuben arrived at Dogs Trust with very little background information, other than having spent the majority of his life in kennels. Despite this, Reuben is one of the sweetest dogs in our care and he makes friends with everyone, whether that's our volunteers or the vet. He is even helping other dogs at the centre to become more comfortable around other canines. Reuben has never been in a home before so would need patience and TLC with the realistic view that things may not be perfect straight away. He is an incredible boy who deserves his chance at a happy home life, where he can be introduced to the big wide world at a pace that suits him. Reuben does have an injury from his past in his mouth which is currently being well managed, he will also have on going pain relief. Please note that you won’t be applying for a specific dog, but you can tell us what type of dog you’re looking for. You can also add up to four favourites to your application to give us an idea of the dogs you like, so we can consider you for similar dogs. Once you’ve submitted your application, we can’t change or update your favourites. Adding a dog to your application is not a reservation but a guide for us to find you a match.

Reuben is a delightful five-year-old Patterdale. Reuben's wish list include a quiet area where he can go for nice walks, in an equally quiet home with caring and kind adopters. Reuben is friendly with everyone but his affectionate side truly blossoms once he has built up a bond with someone. Children in the home should be older teens and he would ideally like to be the only dog. Reuben would like a secure garden to call his own as he loves pottering about and having a good sniff. If you rent your home, please have permission from your landlord to keep a dog on your property before you apply for a dog.
