Hi all, my name is Penny and I'm a female Jack Russell Terrier.
I have come into the centre as a stray and it is clear to see that I have been used for breeding, so now its time for me!
The team here think I am about 10 years of age and am showing signs of some vison and hearing loss. I am being looked after very well here, I have actually just been to the vets and had 23 teeth removed!!! But don't worry this doesn't affect my eating.....I just love my food! Unfortunately, whilst being neutered the vet has found some mammary masses which will need to be removed in another couple of operations once I have recovered enough.
So, I'm either looking for a new adoption family who are prepared to support me with my pending ops, or I am looking for a foster home for at least the next 2 months whilst I recuperate and for my foster family to help me through my next operations that the team here are going to fundraise for. I am hoping that any foster family would fall in love and want to adopt me eventually!
I am a very friendly sweet girl - I love everyone and despite being a slightly more mature lady I am full of fun and energy who loves playing with my toys - anything squeaky or soft teddies are my favourite, so much so I can get a bit possessive over them and not want to give them up! I love human company so would want to be around people quite a lot of the time. I walk lovely on the lead and really enjoy doing lots of sniffs so it would be great if my new home had a garden area.
I am great with other dogs and have met cats here at the centre with no issues, as I love everyone children should be fine too. If there are other dogs in the home they would need to be able to cope with me being a bit jumpy around their faces - I think because I cant quite see them properly I like to figure out exactly where they are!
I really do hope there is a family out there for me as I have so much love to give - see you soon I hope x
