Hello there! I am Lady, a super loving 2-year-old greyhound looking for her new forever home after retiring from a (short) life of racing.

Being an ex-racer has meant that I have lived in kennels my entire life, and I have never experienced a sofa before being placed in a foster home, I have SERIOUSLY missed out! My new favourite place to cuddle and nap is the sofa, but it is also my bed (or yours) I am not a fussy girl, I would love somewhere comfy to sleep the day away. I am also learning where to go to the toilet, my foster mum says I have been doing so well with my training! It has been quite the adjustment from spending all of my day in a kennel but I have a lovely garden to explore in my foster home, and I am even so excited to go outside for walks and I'd like to be able to explore more in my new forever home. I will need my owners to be patient with me and to help me adjust to my new life, it can be overwhelming for a dog like me, but it will be so rewarding, and you will have a best friend for life. I also really enjoy having a routine and I would definitely thrive off of this in my new home.

When it comes to going on walks, I LOVE them. At first, it took me a little while to find my paws (which may be the case in my new home whilst I gain confidence), but once I knew that walks were positive and nothing to be afraid of, I couldn't stop. Running around in an enclosed field with my long line is also great, I have been showing off how fast I can be.

When it comes to other dogs I am still quite unsure, I have made a couple of doggy friends whilst in foster, but I do tend to pick and choose who I like, so I would prefer to be an only dog. However, if you are a Greyhound family and already have some other sighthound friends, I could live with another calm Greyhound pending introductions at the centre. I have a very high prey drive, so when I am out and about I do wear a muzzle. Wearing it doesn't phase me, however, my high prey drive does mean I would not be able to live with any cats or small furries. I could possibly live with older children who have experience with larger dogs, as I can be a little bit bouncy when I get excited.

I am still learning to spend time on my own in the house, and this has been built up to 4 hours so far. I would like someone to be around for a while to allow me to settle in.

If you feel that you can offer me my new forever home (and sofa) then please register your interest below, or contact Bedfordshire reception!
