  • Centre:Dogs Trust
  • Location:Liverpool
  • Sex:Male
  • Breed:English Springer Spaniel
Young Stan may be cute and fluffy but he is in desperate need of stability. He has had a few failed adoptions and has been in various foster homes, but really struggled to make connections with his carers. Since being in his current adult only stable foster home with another male playful spaniel, he has grown so much in confidence. Stan is very worried about people approaching him and trying to initiate contact, however if you allow him to come to you, you will soon see his cheeky side! He is worried by people holding items in their hands, especially leads, brooms etc. and will try and hide away on the couch. He can also be worried by unpredictable items and noises in his environment. He will initially alarm bark at the items if he is scared but can quickly calm down once he is reassured. Stan is a sweetheart once he gets to know you and will require multiple visits to get used to his new family. Don't let his initial nervousness fool you though, Stan is a high energy dog, and due to him being worried of new places, he will require access to a substantial garden that he can enjoy with his family and dog friends. Living with another dog has been enormously beneficial to him, and he must go to live with a friend that can tolerate his playful nature. He relies a lot on his pals for confidence. Stan is very worried by the car and has slowly been making progress, however he will need continued support by his new family once he gets rehomed. He sleeps through the night and has been fine when left alone for a few hours, but as a young pup, any alone time should be increased gradually.

Stan is looking for an adult only home and he must live with a neutered fully vaccinated dog. Stan will need a patient and understanding family as he is currently on behaviour medication alongside a training plan, and his adopters need to consider the cost of this. He is house trained.
