  • Sex:Male
  • Breed:Chow Chow
Nanouk is a handsome and fun 6 year old Chow Chow with a personality as big as his hair-do! Full of character, this guy loves to play and turns into a big bouncy puppy when he has a toy! He play bows, bounces and prances around after tennis balls, zooming around our compounds once he catches one! He loves exploring on his walks with lots of sniffs and his lovely tail swishing away! He likes to take his time with new people but once a bond is built he has a wonderful snuggly personality and loves a fuss. Whether it’s joining you on a nice stroll, curling up on the sofa for a snooze, this guy will be by your side. Nanouk is a brilliant boy who is waiting patiently for his new adopters to come and meet him so he can get back to being a best buddy! You can see more photos and videos of Nanouk and all the other dogs in our care on our Instagram account @DogsTrust_Canterbury

Nanouk is on the search for a home where he can fulfil his role as a faithful and chilled out companion after his previous owner sadly passed away. He is looking for a home with no other pets or children as he prefers a quieter lifestyle without too much hustle and bustle. Although he would prefer to be the only dog in his home, he would be happy to have calm and polite walking friends to share nice strolls and sniffs with. Nanouk would also benefit from a home where there are minimal visitors and ideally adopters with experience, time and patience to help build his confidence. He is a really mild mannered gent, but he doesn’t appear to have much in the way of formal training so adopters should be prepared to go back to basics with him, however he is clean in his kennel and was housetrained in his previous home, therefore he will need access to his own private garden for toileting as well as pottering and playing. Nanouk has Spondylosis which requires daily medication and he is best suited to a home that will give him appropriate shorter daily walks and activities and ensure that he remains at a healthy weight to keep him happy and healthy. Due to his breed, Nanouk will need regular grooming at home or at a groomers to keep his coat in good condition. Although he can manage up to around 4 hours of leaving time, this should be introduced once he is fully settled in to his new life and routine. He would much prefer to have lots of company during his days as he loves being around his humans so much! Nanouk does have some worries around very close and formal handling like at the vets, so he does prefer a more hands off approach and adopters will need to ensure that vet visits are managed carefully. Our team will give lots of support and help with this for when he goes home. Nanouk will need to meet his adopters multiple times prior to going home to build a strong bond. He may also need visits from our behaviour team once he goes home so adopters will need to live within
